Default does anyone here use inline ice fishing reels on their jigging rods?

Just curious if anyone here uses an inline ice fishing reel on a jigging rod? I have a couple Mr. Crappie Solo reels that seem a bit light when a bigger than expected species grabs the lure & takes off. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the battles but I felt under-gunned. I appreciate any input. Thanks!

I use the Eagle Claw inline ice fishing reel on my jigging rods and my spider riggin rods (casting is a no no) ...

    Eagle Claw Inline Ice Reel

These reels have a neat feature of an opening between the spool and frame that allows paying out line without the spool turning ...

Great drag (star type like a baitcaster) and a much more efficient and comfortable handle than some of the other in-line reels ...

I have the same Eaglecraw reel on a 12ft jigging pole. I have not had a chance to use it yet.

The only disadvantage I’ve found in this reel is the “free spool” adjustment (spool spin tighter or looser) is extremely touchy ...

Here is the feature I mentioned in the Eagle Claw Inline Ice fishing reel of an opening between the spool and the reel frame that allows paying out line without the spool spinning ...(very handy with approx 6” increments of paying out line while adjusting bait depths) ...

Added one of these reels to my B n M Super Sensitive rod on Saturday and tested it out yesterday. It definitely takes some getting used to, but I like the reel. Also love the fact that it doesn't twist line. Thanks for the suggestion! It has a nice light weight and good balance for the rod. Win/win. Looking forward to doing some drifts in the next few trips.

Check out the Piscifun In Line reels. Been using them for a year now and they are a great reel. A nice feature is the trigger which allows you to make a quick depth adjustment in your presentation and it locks in place as well which makes it easier to control the fish if your in tight cover. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I will check 'em out. I have a few other jigging rods that could use new reels. I like how light and compact those inline reels are. Also how they don't twist line.
