    Default Longlining setup

My usual tactic that`s worked for me is pulling a 1/16 oz jighead with some color of Bobby Garland Stroll R. I`d say I am 50 feet out from the boat. I do not have a way to know how fast I am going and base it on feel ( wind conditions, etc)

I`ve not caught the fish the spring like I did last year fishing a local reservoir. It made me think that I might need to add some weight to my line ( 6 #) in the form of a splitshot.

Do you guys typically add some type of weight when pulling jigs?

I do add a split shot when I’m trying to get my jig deeper without slowing down too much

Put a 1/8 oz jig below the 1/16 oz for more weight. What I do.
