either way ignorance of the law still isn’t a excuse and it’s obvious that they will pay ! Looks like a fine for over the limit plus $25 bucks per fish that will get fed to the birds once no longer needed for evidence!
I am absolutely 100% in agreement with obeying daily creel limits but a lot of the possession limits if forced are very stiff .
so to just help us be aware here is the law for my state and one of the neighboring states that I fish quite a bit !

in my state it is a violation of Alabama law to transport more than one day’s creel limit of any species of fish beyond the boundaries of this state!
    In Tennessee
law states The total possession limit is twice the daily creel limit and you may not have in possession while afield more than the daily creel limit!
Well said my friend. I am glad the Game Wardens did their job. There are no acceptable excuses you have when you get caught! Please obey size and creel limits.

I think as long as the first limit is before midnight maybe ?
but on a side note: I once had a police person tell me this after a person broke out the window on our car to steal a yard sale black hoodie off the front seat ,,,,,,,
Seems he quit patrolling our area and I made mention of it and he said , we are too busy with DWI drivers to do daily street patrols like we used to . Then went on to say I should leave the door unlocked and the window down so they wouldn't break it out the next time !
Well you can just imagine my reaction ..... I said you know what fella , why don't I just leave a 6 pack on the seat TOO and MAYBE you can ketch the thief driving while intoxicated ! ! !
Then he went on to say we lived in the "wrong" neighborhood ,because thieves liked areas where folks had valuable stuff ! Man was I hot as he talked and getting hotter with every excuse !
To say it started to get a bit dicey is an understatement and within just a mere minute or so he called back up and a 7 footer showed up quickly to help calm me down .....
In retrospect , it was and or is mostly about the revenue created from a Dwi is my guess , first one in these parts is nearly $ 15,000 after you pay for everything involved , bet money, ketchn a thief dont pay out near that much for sure
It really frustrates me when law enforcement shows no concern and is more about revenue and patrolling "The right" neighborhoods to bring in the most revenue.

The revenue collected from fines rarely (maybe never) is kept by the law enforcement agencies. Many times the revenue goes to the schools.

I would think you guys would be aware of where the revenue from fines ends up in your area.
