Some nice ones.
This might have to be a 2 or 3 part fishee story .....
The day was filled with fish, food and fun , no alcoholic beverages included
Once again as an older fella who thinks he knows this about that, I was educated by mother nature once again .
As mentioned in another thread a front blew thru and the wind changed and the ketchn became a bit more complex than what you typically see in a steady weather pattern.
So we rolled up to a private lake that has quickly become my favorite honey hole for big bluegill and red ear sunfish . As I approached the water I could clearly see fish cruising the weed bed along the shoreline . Some buck bass and big bluegill and low and behold here comes a nice white crappie right along with them .
It was interesting to see it's approach to the hunt , it stayed off the weed bed about 5 feet and moved a bit slower in a parallel pattern to the shoreline than the bass and much more like a bluegill in it's approach to the new hatch of fry in the water.
So as I watched it and tried to decide if it was for sure a crappie , it rose a bit in it's wanderings and it was clear it was in fact a crappie . I yelled loud at my bud I could see a crappie and at this point in time I am not sure if it was my loud voice or possibly some movement I made or what ,but it BOLTED when it saw, heard or felt me looking .
Did we ketch said fish , not sure , but we did ketch several crappie that were about that size along that shoreline .
None the less , that spot was short a good bit on what my expectations were so we traveled on to the next pit stop . 4 lakes and ponds in 4 hours will keep you on your toes for sure , each one had and has had different scenarios each visit that will keep you guessing .
The red ear in that spot eluded me totally and big bluegill just didn't get near as busy as expected so on we went to another water body . It was pretty fun trying to outguess them there fish at each stop and to be very sure a very high number of fish played with us before we left "the ranch".
p.s. am trying some Vicious clear mono in 6 lb and it is quite pleasing at this point in time, low memory and casts like a dream and not a break off one , just saying

Nice short review of the vicious line. Must be tough if it can stand up to your abuse!

Any equipment in my arsenal of tackle is likely to feel the abuse , SK used to use that line back when he banked it with me if I remember right .
So far it is great mono , but to be sure testing has just started , the 8 is on another heavier combo and seems real nice as well .
The good news is we have a place selling it for half price

probably didn't sell well to start is reason for discount, BUT, the great KETCHN says it's good so everyone will be wanting to try it and price will go back up.
I've been using it for a few years, although I don't fish near as much as he does I've always been satisfied with it.
