I'm willing to guess that:

Is going to be the hotspot
What is the the most likely depth fish will be suspended?
Depth Temp Oxygen
0 77.7F° (25.4C°) 7.0
5 77.5F° (25.3C°) 7.1
10 77.4F° (25.2C°) 6.8

12-13ft maybe?
Id probably have to say 12 through 14.
Right now I am catching fish at night at depths ranging from 10-14 feet in about 25 feet of water
This is a very interesting question as I have often wondered if it was the depth or the temperature they liked more. Is there a certain water temp that is ideal for crappie? And what depth would that be given a certain surface temp? My electronics give a surface temp, or temp at the transducer really. Seems like if they perfer a certain temp they would try to stay in that range no matter what the overall depth of the water. And would it matter if the water was 60 feet deep where they happened to be hanging around at say 15 feet?
The only problem with them going deeper is the thermocline in a lot of lakes. There is not enough oxygen below it, so they normally stay at or above the thermocline. That way they have cooler water and oxygen.Originally Posted by superdave1984
Check out Canepoles fishing thermometer, works for me. BUT as you all know not all them crappie that's schooling ain't paying attention so they could be hanging out somewheres else. Ferdi aka Fred
