Coming up in the Electrical Trade. My first journeyman told me when I was 16. If you're gonna be dumb you gotta be tough. Well sir those are some sage words to live by. I really took that one to heart. From about the time I was 10 years old if dad had ahold of some work to do I had the other end. I do miss the old days. I am certain that was funny stuff see me tear out running from that fire extinguisher. It certainly built a layer of character

I am sure they go off something akin to an airbag.

There is some poetic justice there, Ketchn! Good story and you didn’t have to say a word….just laugh!

I have two inflatables, and I loosen the charge cylinder when I am not using them.

Not a bad idea. I figured out the cylinder was not pierced until the inflation control fires.

Years back I owned the ones with the pill. Had several of them go off due to being left in hot, humid vehicle….boat lockers….getting caught out in a rain storm. Once I started using the hydrostatic models all those issues are gone. Yes they cost more money but in my opinion worth it.

    Regards

I had one go off in my locked truck backseat during warm, humid weather. Also had one go off on top of my center console when I was standing there. Scared the crap out of me and I didn’t have a recharge kit onboard. I now keep at least 3 recharge kits for the 6 inflatables I own.

Not a bad idea at all. I would recommend placing some tag or something on the buckles as a reminder to tighten prior to use.
