The wind has been kicking my butt this year.
Got there early and it wasn't bad. Within 30 minutes it picked up substantially. When your trolling motor is coming totally out of the water the waves are a bit much. Dang near fell in trying to tie up, waves pushing me around and tossing the boat up and down.
I tried some shallow spots up in a sheltered cove but had no luck there. I think I need a lesson from Ketchin'.
Wind has kept me off the lake too much this year, I may have to take up bass fishing to get up in those sheltered coves or catfishing the sheltered side of the riprap around the long bridges. Oh my!

Worst weather condition anything and Wind!
Is this a bad year for wind? Or is it always bad in the spring and we just kind of forget from year-to-year? I use Ventusky - Wind, Rain and Temperature Maps to monitor the wind. I like the visual it shows.
I got a good laugh because of wind, we were fishing 2 back water culverts today, one the old highway one the new about 50 ft apart. People on the old highway bridge were mostly minnow fishing and a heavy gust came under the bridge and most of the floats were lifted out of the water along with the minnows, seems like they were just suspended in air for a good 30 seconds. The fish were in 1 to 2 ft of water yesterday eager to bite any bait. Closer to 5 to 6 ft today and very picky.

Quit early myself due to the wind. Doesn't sound like I had it as bad as some but enough that I didn't like it. When I check the weather the wind prediction is mostly what I look at, hate fishing when it gets to windy.
