    Default 4/16/22 little report

Well I finally got back out today. Storms were past and fairly calm winds this morning. Surface temp was 60. Went to 61. Caught 3 not large but better than skunk

Hey Dan, those are pretty nice. Always great to avoid a skunk. I finally hit a good spot today - nothing in the way of size but about 20 pans. All had good colors. I think the season has really gotten started!

They have their tuxes on. It has been tough fishing post front. They are turning around and getting ready for sure. Hit the back waters this afternoon water temps there 67 to 69. Saw a voat off in a shallow cove catching a few

Being no expert and this is my first spawn season. It does seem they are getting ready. The storms and back to back fronts never help. I caught one on chartreuse and two on blue ice. Had a little action on a slip bobber and nibbles but I failed to complete the deal. But I ain’t done yet!

61 with black crappie involved and this time of year ,means somewhere on that lake it is really good , keep scouting ,the mother lode is near you in that lake my friend ....
look for a steep bank ,rocky is best here and a quick drop to over 10 foot deep , they love to bed a bit deeper than white crappie in lots of spots here .
congrats on finding some and KABOOM

They tend to bed a bit shallower than White Crappie up here.
