    Default Amped Outdoor Battery charger

The Amped Outdoor battery charger fuse broke on my charger. The plastic feels brittle. I guess I had a short or something and it was getting hot and cooked it . Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you change the fuse design? I don’t like this design.

They make a fuse holder that uses the car fuses. Much better than the one in the picture. Ebay has them.

Yeah I was in a hurry earlier. I will track down something more appropriate this next week. Not sure which size would be best. I just needed it fixed so I could charge my battery for tomorrow.

Did you call Amped Outdoor? I had an issue with a battery and they sent me a new one over nite with a prepaid package label to send mine back free of charge. I did t even order the original battery through them, I got it from Scheels. I thought that was pretty good customer service. They might fix you up with a new charger.

Yes I sent them an email but I’ve already fixed this one except probably want a different fuse. After panicking today I’m going to buy another charger though as a backup after I do hear back from them. They have always given me great service.

Heard back from Matthew at Amped Outdoors. Super friendly and told me what I had done was good and I should use a 5A fuse. Said the new chargers have reverse polarity built into them, this is the only reason the older chargers or other brands use a fuse.

I'm glad your remedy worked and was acceptable to the manufacturer; thanks for the information on this Company never heard of them.

Did he say why he thought it fried in the first place?
