Default All I catch is bass

New to crappie fishing and only using bobby garland baby shad. All I seem to catch are bass. I know there are crappie in the pond. I wonder what I'm doing wrong to get their attention. Or if I need to scout any other estuaries. I'm in Broken Arrow. Ok if there are any locals that know places very close by id be interested. I do not own a boat.Name: 20220331_184513.jpg

Bass are a constant nuisance to crappie fisherman.

A few things come to mind:
    1) are you reeling in or jigging? I believe a person catches more crappie (or fewer bass maybe) when jigging.

    2) I like a 10ft jig pole. Nothing like that thump on a tight-line jig pole. Bass are fun on a jig pole too!

3). I like fishing small bodies of water (oxbow lakes off rivers) and rivers. If you fish that way you can get by with a small jon boat…. Might not even have to have an outboard or a troller. They are nice to have though.

4). Don’t fall into the trap of switching colors all the time. Three favorites are plenty. I fish two colors almost all the time.

5). When in doubt - I’ll hover over a brush pile with a VERY SLOW presentation.

Hang in there though. Spawn will start soon and you’ll be catching them in shallow water.

dont know exactly where , but i got a bud that hits docks in tulsa , search and destroy mission to commence .
look around for fishing marinas up that way , and do what the locals that ketch crappie are doing .
in that pond you best use a float and dont move it around much , you are probably fishing to fast for the crappie in there .
