Been using mine for couple years it came on the boat that I bought ! Absolutely love it!
fish by my self mostly and use it every time I drop in the water !
as long as you remember to turn it on and be sure your remote is connected and that your cables aren’t caught in anything .
Take your time check everything drop it in open your door to get signal deploy motor move it out of the way if anyone is waiting in line hit spot lock park the truck bring it up to ramp/dock get in and go fishing.

I have one and absolutely love it. With my Arthritis it’s been a game changer for me. I am still learning it but the investment was well worth it.

Have had one since 2018. My wife runs it, especially laying tracks and then following them. Makes fishing much more enjoyable.
There has been no problems except the transducer leaves a lot to be desired. New ulteras have a different transducer so that should not be a problem.

When running a track be sure the battery cable does not get wrapped around the motor.

Words of wisdom here, look up the "Re-learn Procedure" put in in your phone as a note or write it and store in your boat. I sold numerous Ulterra TM's and the call I would get from my customers the most is "I was pushing buttons and now it won't stow".

Second, the front of the mount has micro switches in it. Daubers, Spiders, etc make nests that make the little plungers stick preventing operation. Generally it will stow then not deploy till the switches are freed up. Daubers make nets on top of the control board too if the unit is stored outside, cover the TM base well to prevent.

Great motor if you fish a few times a year. Not designed to hold up to guiding. I’ve had two of them and both caused me to miss several guide trips. Stow and deploy went out and left me taking the motors apart to get them back in stow. My dealer hates them!!!

I went to an Ultrex with zero problems.

I have a love/hate relationship with my Ulterra. When it works it's a great addition for sure. When it doesn't then it's a big pain. I do have some instructions on my phone that I've used a few time to get back to fishing

I have one have had to do the relearn once. The hold boat option above is great, but had a buddy forgot to stow motor when he put it on the trailer......did not hold up well

I am on my 2nd one. The first one was bought in 2015. Nothing but problems with it. It finally went totally bad in late 2017 and I bought the 2nd gen Ultera. No issues with it at all and I usually fish an average of 3 days a week 52 weeks a year. While my 2017 motor has never failed to stow I suggest you familiarize yourself with the manual stow procedure should that happen...which it happened a lot with the model I bought in 2015. It is a pain should you have to do that.

    Regards
