Wondering if you use some kind of fishing hut to keep out of the wind while fishing or do you rough it? Those guys on grumpier old men had some kind of fish condos,,,,lol

Good to hear your still catching those beautiful golden color crappie. Can't wait to see some pics for sure.
Be safe and good luck fishing
The recipe we use is 4 cup warm water 1/3 cup kosher salt 1/3 cup sugar. Soak the fillets for 2 hours. Remove and then air dry. We spread them out on paper towels. i have an electric smoker. i use shavings that i make from my fire wood. Mostly oak. We use 2 pans of chips to get nice flavor. After removing we finish up in the oven on broil for about 10 min.

I hope you have a gas or electric auger.
I have the manual type but haven’t used it in forever.
I think about 18 inches was as thick as I ever drilled. That was probably 20 years ago.
I loved ice fishing and still have all my gear. 5 gallon bucket was my choice too.
At 67 I think I would have to have something other than manual auger now.
Thanks for sharing.

I am almost that age and here in Texas it would be a 6 degree fishing day. Opps, I meant 60°
