    Default Fish on ice

This question is about using freezer packs instead of ice to keep the fish from spoiling. Does it work as well ?

I like them submerged in ice myself. That being said it depends on how hot it is outside also.

The more surface contact with the cold, the better. Unless you have lots of freezer packs, ice is best.

My preferred method is freezing a few plastic sandwich containers/tupperware/coolwhip bowels that are filled with water. Dump the block ice into a 1-gal ziplock bag, then just grab a few bags when you need ice. The block ice stays frozen longer and the ziplock keep melt water contained.

I have been using 2 liter bottles for years and they work fine.
