But yeah, i have a live scope and it did not really change how I fished. All it did was teach me behaviors. Fish behavior, and mine too.

Mainly I’ve seen how easy they are to spook, and that I reel my line in too fast thus pulling it higher in the water column than I’ve thought. That’s it in a nut shell. I don’t “hunt” crappie with it, because I can’t look at the screen and fish at same time. Don’t want to either. Don’t want to burry my head in the screen and look for crappie and then look for my jig and control boat direction and control livescope angle. Too much like work, and too much like playing an app on my phone. I want to enjoy nature and not just see it on my screen.

minnows in these parts are in the about 4 or 5 a dozen range ,so in the end you get them or shiners for about the same price and them there gulp minnows could care less about water temps or oxygen and won't mess up your pocket if you carry them in the bag sealed up well ......

I agree with you Slab. I fish when I can for the pure enjoyment of it, to enjoy nature, and get away from the pressures of life. My lures are nothing without some "G" Sauce on them.

I think both you and Slab hit it on the head. Yes, I want to catch fish, but being out in the stream enjoying nature and figuring out what they want is the challenge, fun and enjoyment. The sideshows are the bonus - a fawn drinking, a grey heron crashing into a tree landing, a mother duck leading her brood up the creek and me hoping the snappers leave them alone….
