Default Making them chase it. Live Scope and Active Target.

Friended the guy that runs the bait and tackle store had mentioned wanted just to go enjoy a afternoon with him. He called we went out on his ranger yesterday. Two livescopes 12 on each end. him and his wife pro crappie fish. Use a old trolling motor with swing out mouth as the rear livescope transducer without the head on the trolling motor. Really worked well I have to admit that.
Have not had my active target long but guessing fished 25 hours with it so far already got a pattern I use when they don't want to bit and guess who caught the most fish yesterday.

Keep the jig about 6 inchs off the bottom when they turn or come up to look at it I start moving it up little at a time keeping it about 4 to 5 inchs in front of them at "THEIR" speed. Kinda like your toying with them won't let them get close. Have I had them turn around and go back down. YES I'd say 60 to 70% of the time . Tried racing them to the bottom before when they did that but that turned them off but there is the pattern I'm using now and it works. let them go down settle back down, then drop it back over its head. They will turn and come back up do the very same thing keep it 5 inchs rising with them, this second time they get pissed and charge after it and thats where I'm catching most of my fish. Had several yesterday just turn charge it from the start those fish I posted the other day all females water temp here was 53 yesterday.
Having fun teaching mama fishing, she loves it just new. Told her to just jig the poll very slightly every now and then, something caught my eye when we went out together few days ago, she had the end of that poll rocking. Could of put a butterfly ocean jig on that rod would of caught a tuna.
Let her ease up behind me sit on the cooler watch that action under water. LOL We got that issue solved.

I also carried my secret weapon yesterday. You'll got the seat belts strapped in right?? . LOL
Found the smallest zip lock baggies about 6 inches tall and 2.5 inchs wide. I freeze two shrimp in each. Take one out before I go fishing throw it in a glasss of hot water by the time I'm fishing its ready.
I dip the jig in that. Last about 10 minuets but after dipping it in that baggie and moving it around on those shrimp my catching really improves. Bought a small bait box of shrimp from my friend who owns the bait and tackle place came home put them in the baggies ended up with 12 baggies for under 5 dollars. 12 fishing trips. I'm ok with that. We are coastal so have shrimp around here.

Ok My dip and chase secret is out. On the chase I've had them come off the bottom in 14 foot of water follow it up bit in the last 4 foot of water, and i've noticed the further up they come the more aggressive they get, so I'm reeling up having to keep it steady so your concentrated to the max but it keeps them interested.
Can't jerk. If it flys away from them they will lost interest. That 4 to 5 inchs in front their nose at their speed is the kicker.

Love coastal Carolina. Have dolphins swimming by my dock catch bream bass and crappie under it. Flounder at times on Beatle spins. Brackish water best of both worlds. Huge seafood fan to. Neighbor and our crew have oyster night , kill a few beers get together mama is from OHIO ain't got her eating oysters yet. LOL When I moved here land was cheap. Farm country so prices won't high. Lake Waccamaw first 20 years , lived in New Bern NC for a year with that adventure, bid on this place won, moved here for the fishing. picking up my new to me 190 after lunch with the jack plate on it Mercury marina fixed that. . Dead ahead getting that toy set up. I'm 65 need to find out about this Geezer club sometime.
