I would recommend that you avoid any bulk line purchases until you figure out what works for you. Then get the bulk size. Line will age on a spool, and depending on how it is stored, could be fast. That is why I like to order line from companies that move a lot of line. Anyways, no sense in having 15,000 yards of a line you can’t get along with.
Maybe they will bite this one……

What happens if i get the hooks tangled on lure is the braid toast like what happens to my mono? .braid is to much $$$ to change out every other trip . i should say i have a trolling motor and its hard to see sometimes when a lure gets fouled out of kayak so my mono gets trashed very quick .
The braid would certainly increase your chances of getting those bonus fish in. Braid can be hard to break at times even from a boat. I would want my drag set light enough on the reel that it would slip instead of causing me trouble with the kayak if I was to hook a stump or a log.
An old bass fishing trick was to cut off the forward facing hooks on a crankbait to make it into a double hook. Without the hook in the front it became a lot more snag resistant

It is surprising how big of a fish will grab a small bait. It is certainly a let down when you are several minutes into a good fight and the line goes slack. Some of those big cats will do it to ya in a heartbeat

Line choices are tricky , but as stated ,don’t get a bulk amount until you find what you like .
4 lb mono is a bit light in lots of places and it will make you sad when a really big crappie breaks it off .
I use mostly 6 lb mono , but I love the set the hook like a bass fisher person ....

I will use 4# line if I'm in open water and casting otherwise I use 6 or 8# line most of the time. Prefer mono over braid.
