Default Upgrading spinning reels with better carbon drags?

Have any of you guys upgraded any of your reels with good carbon drags?
I have read some guys did this. Contemplated it a few times.

Wondered if any of you did it and was you pleased with the difference?
    Thanks men.

I’ve done it to a lot of reels. It is really not necessary as I only use 2# test lines. For UL angling felt is fine. A couple of reels I bought came with them. The drag washers need to be cleaned same as felt…they will however last longer than felt.

    Regards

Totally agree with alphahawk, not necessary for panfish. I used to do all the time when I was Surf Fishing. Upgrading spinning reels with better carbon drags?

I did it on all my reels that had oil-felt...including a President XT casting reel - it has made a difference and now I do it to every reel soon as I get it.

It's not difficult to cut your own - just a little finicky.

The sheets are available on Amazon.
    Carbon Fiber Sheets

Or you can order washers from
    Smooth Drag
They have kits for many reels, or you can measure and order the exact size.

You don’t really need it especially for crappie which you need light smooth drag. Good maintenance felt drag would yield smoother startup.

Long as you remember to loosen your drag after every trip, oil-felt is fine...gotta watch out for that compression-set though.

Course, a little CALS on the carbon-fiber washer and you have smooth startups as well.

I guess I’m pretty bad. I don’t loosen drag after each trip and I don’t maintain felt drag either. Guess I need to change this.
