Hey buddy, I can’t help you but I would also post this question to the Kentucky board. There are lots of good folks here willing to help. What method are you going to be fishing, bank, boat, single poling, trolling or push/pulling crankbaits? I would think the Crappie will be moving shallow in about a month to pre-spawn/spawn. Minnows work well and are my go to on any new lake. Many great plastics out there etc. Welcome to the site.

Spawn will be getting started soon. They will be getting ready to stage up to move shallow. Bobby Garland Baby Shad are pretty popular for a soft bait. There are many other brands as well. I see a lot of discussions of that lake it seems to have a good presence here.

Find some shallow water with structure if possible, 1/16 oz jig heads and small 1 to 2 inch baits will work. try them under a bobber that will be easy on your shoulder. Road runners are great for finding fish.
