Default are these shallow if they are in ,,,,,,,

3 to 5 fow in the shade ?
we have found there are a few ...
not many large fish , likely already gone .
migration fish though , not shallow to reproduce .
don't get all confused with what the fish are doing .
in some locations they are shallow because they have no deep water .
all the fish in these photos probably live there life out in less than 10 ft of water .
they will march really shallow when they spawn in the main lake .
but as of now they are headed downstream that way .
a month or so and a few miles downstream and it will be on fire for sure .
p.s. the striped ones are headed the other way , they go upstream to spawn!
it's quite a disaster when you short water a jig and float in there .
my bud EVEN foul hooked a gizzard shad , they run in there too !
it is if nothing else a Ketch fest of smaller fish !

Looks like it was a fun trip, even if they were small.

we go just to get bites , size is irrelevant and often times little bitty fish get as much attention as big fish when we are out and about.
lots of yucking it up on them look at this teeny tiny for sure ....
it is nice to ketch big fish , but it is not nice to ketch no fish , this is fact .....

Looks like you had a fine day! We are still waiting up here but it’s getting close. Two weeks ago the gates were locked due to snow and ice on the ramps and ponds. Last night was in the twenties and today it’s trying to get to fifty degrees. Winds are turning more southwest and we are seeing more of your weather. Soon……

Caught some dinks up a large creek that feeds the lake ( E Texas) last Friday. Every brush top had some biting.
    2-3 feet down.
There was probably enough current the water temp was the about same from bottom to surface.
Won’t be long till they all begin to gorge before the spawn.
