    I run 6lb test line, 1/4 oz jigs, mostly Bobby Garland baits, and run anywhere from .5 to 1 mph. I always start out at .8 and adjust from there.
    The main thing I can't determine is what are the best water temps for boards and what depths to try for those water temps, etc. - I know when water gets to about 60 in April I start trolling cranks, but this stretch between the end of Feb and April I'm kind of lost with the planer boards.

    Thanks, I've been trying to replicate what this guy is doing, .8mph in 4-7 feet of water using 1/16-1/8oz jigs 6-7ft, but no luck yet. Seems the wind always messes with me too much when I'm trying to go at 0.8 mph or less, I don't think I've ever caught a day out there when it wasn't windy!
