The Blizzard of 2022

Before you go off and think this post has something to do with the recent weather ,let me set you in the right direction .
The Blizzard of 2022 is a frozen treat served at DQ .....just saying
So in order to get a preteen wanting one to have interest in ketchn fish rather than looking at the ipad and eating ice cream , a challenge was created .
You want a Blizzard asked me ? The answer was a definitive YES !
OK sweety here is the deal , we are going to hit Buddy's place on the way home from the country place . Mom wants to ketch some fish and dad wants to ketch a hundred, so you need to ketch some fish too !
Here is how it will go , "if" you ketch one you get a plain vanilla cone
If you ketch 2 dad will pick the flavor on the mini blizzard .
and IF you ketch 3 you are golden to pick the size and flavor ......
BUT, as sad as it sounds , zero ketched fish equals a drive buy at the DQ ....
then started the witty banter I tell ya , what if it gets away before I get it up on the dock ?
I said well , if I get to see it really well it might count ...
So we hit the dock and hammered a bit , mom and dad coached some and she was determined and lost and or missed a bunch . She got to 2 fish in hand before her ketchn skills faltered and man did it get dicey , she got all serious and determined and it made it worse .
After good while and some actual tears she managed her third in hand and sat there watching mom and me hammer for 30 or 45 minutes and then off we went ....
58 got to get photographed and they bit about 4 foot under a fixed float on bright yellow.
EXTRA soft really ridiculous slow sinking of the float each take .
all released and in case you wondered , it was an Oreo Blizzard in her sights .
all crappie and no "off" species in the mix .most about 9 to 10 inch with a few in the 11 to 12 inch range .
KABOOM is the word ya'll

im a butterfinger man myself but thats still a great way to get a kid fish from the looks of it she was having a good time to boot.
