Not quite…. But I did catch a brand new rod and reel while fishing at the dam this past weekend. Barely any damage. Berkley rod and a Daiwa TWS bait caster. Like new! I snagged another line that was in the water, one end had a nice weighted jigging spoon, the other end had the rod and reel on it

nope , my tackle is to light to reel in a 50 cal , i am pretty sure
but he was probably using braid and livescope is my thought .....

wonder what illegal use it was intended for ? seems odd someone would just "lose" it to me ......

Probably stolen and dumped. My grandfathers store was robbed repeatedly and they would dump stuff in city lake. Typewriters, safes, tools, bicycles, etc... Cops said they sometimes either don't want or plan to return later to collect.

I think they were magnet fishing with rope and heavy duty magnet capable of pulling in those things.

Looked it up yesterday those guns are around $10,000 each and ammo was around $70 for box of 10 bullets!!!!!

so we will likely not target shoot with it , unless we get a second job is my thoughts
