We are normally using 1/2 ounce weights when we are rigging and for that weight either the BnM Bgjp or Capps and Coleman poles work really well.I think both of these poles have about the perfect amount of flex and enough backbone for this style of fishing. The Capps and Colemans are just a bit more stoudt of a rod then the Bgjp's,so if we have to step up to a 3/4 ounce weight we go with those poles.Only have ever had one tip break on one of these rods and it was on a 14ft Bgjp that was brand new out of the tube.My daughter set the hook on a little 9 inch Crappie and it snapped,Im pretty sure it was just a defect in that rod tip.

If you want only one set of rods go with the psts. While they are stiffer than the bgjps, the difference is not much. They are great all around rods. I only recently bought bgjps, mainly for the times when the bite is light.

The Pst's are a heavier action rod than the Bgjps or C&Cs,if you are mainly looking to Spider rig(especially with weights 3/4 ounce or less) the Bgjp/C&Cs are hard to beat.If your looking to spider rig plus get into other trolling styles as well(or use heavier weights rigging)and only want to buy one set of rods, then the Psts might be a better choice for you.
