Natchitoches, Louisiana - Red River Waterway Commission and the Natchitoches Convention & Visitors Bureau to Host the Mr.Crappie $75,000 Invitational Qualifier April 22-23, 2022 on the Red River Pools 3 & 4. The Mr.Crappie Invitational qualifier allows crappie teams from all over the USA to come and compete for an opportunity to fish in the world’s richest crappie tournament the Mr.Crappie $300,000 Invitational on Table Rock Lake October 20-22, 2022 in Branson, Missouri.
Over the past three years, the Mr.Crappie Invitational has raised the bar for all crappie tournament anglers across the country. Who would have ever thought of Crappie Anglers winning $100,000, and the Invitational Qualifier allows the crappie tournament anglers to punch their ticket to the Big Show in October. The Red River is an amazing fishery that has lots of crappie, just look at the results of the 2021 Mr.Crappie $250,000 Dollar Invitational on the Red River Pools 4 & 5.
Marketing Director for the Red River Waterway Commission Eric Gilmore said, "I am excited that our Commissioners have committed to bring the Mr. Crappie franchise back to the Red River. The 2021 Crappie Expo in Shreveport was a historic event and to be able to bring this event and these anglers to another part of the Red River is great for our community. The economic impact of these events is tremendous for our community. The Red River Waterway Commission has sponsored the biggest events in the fishing world and the Mr. Crappie Qualifier continues the Commissions commitment to the economic and recreational development of the Red River District."
April 22-23, 2022 Mr.Crappie $75,000 Invitational Qualifier weigh-ins will be held at the Grand Ecore Recreational Area and at the historic Cane River Amphitheater on Front Street in beautiful downtown Natchitoches, Louisiana. Crappie fanatics get ready for a week full of fun fishing the Red River and all the good food and good times Natchitoches has to offer. Since this is a qualifier tournament I wish Wally would make this an "Open" and just put a cap on the number of boat entries; that way anyone could have a shot instead of it being an "Invitational" only. Never understood why Wally would put together something that could be so great for crappie fishing and keep it exclusively to insiders and buddies, this will fall apart after a few years if changes are not made. Even the FLW and BM has an avenue for anyone that wants to try.
