Fish the coves that has wind blowing into them. The winds blow the warmer surface into them and the baitfish and crappie tend to congregate in those areas this time of year in the middle Georgia lakes I fish.
Hello all,
This is my first post as a new member of the forum and wanted to ask for some cold weather crappie fishing pointers for a novice of the sport. I am planning to take a trip this coming Tuesday looks like the high will be in the 50's suppose to be overcast in my neck of the woods. I will be fishing new water with no help of electronics in my kayak. I have been looking at the google map of where I will be going seems to have a lot of fishable docks along with some good looking points that may have deep runoffs. Just wanted to see if anyone might have some advice on what are some of the key things to look for when exploring new water especially during the cooler weather? Thanks for any info or help.

Not form GA but what type of lake, cover and about what is the water temp?
If you’re fishing locally, post this in the GA forum.

Shared the catch with the guys at the firehouse little lunch time snack. Got a coworker wanting to get after them with me next time I go. It was his first taste of crappie.
