both of my Shimano Saharas aint ever done anything other than work as good or better than any other of the 40 spinning reels I own ?
smooth as butter and never had a single problem , interesting news to me that they aint worth spit for sure ....
wonder if them other name brands could handle what I give my Saharas ? both been thru countless rods in the 5 or 6 years I owned them ...
and to be VERY sure each has seen far more than 15,000 assorted species of fish in that time and still work like the day I bought them without a SINGLE touch of maintenance .
I do once in a great while wet them with lake water when they are extra crusty with fish slime though ....
Unless something had changed drastically with them in the last 5 or 6 years , they get my vote hands down , just saying

interesting news on the Shimano reels , might should buy one of them there Diawa reels and see if all the hype is true , the whatever Pflueger one I got awhile back is pretty nice so far and it gets regularly abused .

I’m leaning towards the Daiwa because I really like the lighter feel in hand. My current TSS/Pflueger 20 size is 8.2 oz all up. Pretty good for a not huge investment. The TCB version wouldn’t be much more.
