have you checked the tow capacity of that truck?
I have a GMC Terrain with the V6 3 liter and it has a tow capacity of 3500lbs and pulls my 17.5ft Crappie Master, glass, like a champ, no problems, however it is probably a little heavier that a pick-up and front wheel drive.

It doesnt seem to blow around, but Im not fishing Texoma either. The boat feels heavy in the water for its size, but doesnt draw much. I would probably have preferred an 18 footer, but this one was a good buy. Lots of room, but I dont think all the compartments would stay dry in much of a rain. Not many stocking dealers around northeast Texas, but this is a sizable investment. I drove to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to buy mine, but it was a good deal cheaper than local shops. They had a good many center console boats as they were not too far from salt water. I would think it would be worth your while to drive to Hot Springs and be able to see all the available Xpress models.
It's funny you say that. I was just looking at Hattiesburg. Hot springs is hit and miss unless the factory would let me at least see the models. I don't know if they do

    My 4RUNNER is a 4.0L V6 rated for 5,000 lbs.

    Curb weight is around 4,600

I feel better under 4,000 though

you should be good to go with either glass or tin boat with plenty of power left over.

. My 2019 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab lists towing capacity at 6640 lbs. Should handle either glass or aluminum up to 21 feet.
