When I used to shuck scallops in our fish sheds, we always cleaned everything after shucking with bleach and water,,,,it won’t hurt you if digested in small amounts and it disinfects better then anything out there,,,just don’t get it on your $100 blue jeans….lol,,,,,plus fish guts and remains work great in vegetable gardens

Wow on the 100 dollar jeans!!
I have cleaned at the kitchen sink for 40+ years. When finished you would never know I was there.
My OCD makes sure of that!! Lol

Our sink isn't Stainless. But I do clean fish in the kitchen sink. We have a double sink. My board fits across both sink wells. I have a 6" hole in one side of the board. I put an ice cream bucket with a plastic store bag in it and have it beneath the hole. All of the fish remains go in the bucket. Then in the freezer until the night before garbage day. Sink is cleaned when finished.

2x3 HDPE cutting board beside the double sink inside the house. Fish move from iced down cooler to board to fillet, rinse in sink and into bowel of water. I use a dexter russell or rapala filet knife. electric saves me 1 min per fish, but traditional gives me better cut IMO (plus fewer flying scales) .....carcasses get tossed to the right to trash can and or 5-gallon bucket lined with bag (to got into freezer until garbage day).

EDIT to add: My mother ask my father why he cleaned fish at the sink, he replied that is where you Dad (my granddad) cleaned his fish. Now 40 years later I claim the same. (plus teaching my boys to do the same)....

My fish never get into the house until ready to eat them. Got a kitchen in the garage. Brine overnight in saltwater rinse and freeze.

I wonder what $100 dollar blue jeans look like. Certainly would have to have them sparkles on the pockets. Gal walk in front of my truck healights the other day with a pair of them on. Thought somebody done turned on a disc ball

I've always fillet them right on the bar in the kitchen,or the kitchen table. We put down a multiple of layers of old news paper, I fillet, and the wife cuts out ribs, when the paper get slimy we peel a layer or two off to fresh paper.

I would be sleeping in the boat if I cleaned fish in the house! Actually that might not be so bad if I was on a lake....LOL

100 dollar jeans! I’ll take my 10 dollar RK brand and use the other 90 for fishing stuff.
