I also am from Ohio. Akron. Both are great Crappie lakes. I have lived in Fairfield Alabama 17 years and been blessed to fish Weiss several times. My friend on the forum "G" has fished at Grenada several times. In my opinion Weiss has good numbers of Crappie when you can find them but Grenada has more tournaments and bigger and heavier Crappie.

Just consider the size limits in each lake, and that tells you all you need to know :

    Weiss - 10"
    Granada - >12"

I would say they are about as different as the miles between them.

Gentlemen thank you for the info. My situation now is we( group of 16) have fished reelfoot for the past 20 years however the place we stayed was destroyed by the tornado.prayers for them. We now are looking for a place to go and have boat rentals and a clean place to stay. If any of you have info I surely would appreciate it. I checked on the web and could not determine if Grenada even had accommodations on the water.

There is a few places on Reelfoot that didn’t get hit. Check out Blue Bank Resort for one.
