Mirror carp are not real common. Before I retired we would see a few each year, but these were not caught on hook and line.

Used to catch lots of these in rivers near Omaha,,,,people eat them too,,,,caught mostly on dough balls

Ketchn, a bit of info you don't have is the hatcheries here in MS were pushing carp to keep the fish ponds clean. Well they way, way, way, over sold carp numbers per pond and ruined quite a few fish ponds. The pond had to be completely drained, the carp removed, and then of course re-stocked. Bad advice from the carp retailers.
