A few years back I’d placed a fairly large order and was checking the items and thought they’d messed it up. It was almost time for them to close on a Friday so I hurriedly called them before they closed for the weekend to get it straightened out. While on the phone with the lady in customer service I found I’d mistakenly ordered the wrong models on a few items and the order was correct. I told her it was my fault and was in a hurry checking it because ups usually delivered around noon but today it didn’t arrive till 3:45 and my wife got off at 4:00 and I needed to check it and hide it before she got home!
I could hear her trying to remain professional and stifle laughing even over the phone. She finally couldn’t help herself and let go, even snorting somewhat. She said I’d made her day when she was finally able.
Good times. I am sure she needed a laugh

What drives me nuts is knowing I have something and not be able to walk into a room and lay my hands on it. So I organize as best my very limited space allows. I’m now to the point that if I haven’t used it in a given amount of time, different for different things, it goes to someone else. Lots I sell, some I give away, some is never gonna go. I like your setup and the collection would keep me busy for days just visiting with some of it. Let’s not talk of the stories involved from the memories some of the stuff would generate.

Not really. All are designed for one type lure or presentation. Several types will work well for more than one use, about half are actually backups in case one breaks. For instance I have a rattletrap rod with mono and another with braid for ripping it thru grass(hydrilla). 3 are top waters but different powers for light, medium, and heavy weight lures. The short pistolgrip rods are what was used in the 60’s and 70’s. Just there like the old lures in the net on the wall like antiques.

If I had to pick a favorite it wouldn’t be for fishing reasons although it is my most expensive reel. It’s a modern spinnerbait rod with a shimano calais my father in law bought in the early 90’s for about $400. His health failed shortly after and he never got to use it. My mother in law gave it to me for my birthday years later not long before she passed. It is the smoothest reel I’ve ever used.

No telling how many of us old fishermen could almost be called hoarders . If we all cleared out our old tackle the sales of new Bass tackle would drop .

A good plan for everything, not just fishing tackle.

If you’re not using it now, you won’t miss it when it’s gone.

I have a special relationship with Walmart, Bass Pro and Cabela’s.

They store most of my tackle for me until I need it.
