The best part of the day was the chance to release the larger crappie. I have not done so in the past. After reading and seeing others practicing this. It is time for me to join them in letting the big ones be caught again

They are better at it than I am. My best crappie was 16 inches and 2 lbs 14 oz. That was probably 10 years ago on a cold rainy miserable night. It was cold enough with the wind howling this morning if they weren't bitting I would have packed it in.

I was so cold last night with 25 mph winds and my crazy friends convinced me to go after walleye.

Well I got this 25.5 and a 19 for my frozen efforts.
