How often do you clean and lube reels?

No less than once a year. But this past year has not been a good one for reel maintenance. I send mine out and due to Covid-19 a lot of the shops were closed or way behind. Once a year works for me now as I have about a dozen reeks that I use…swapping up most trips out. Back when I owned only one UL reel I would have it done twice a year. I used to have my Shimano reels done and they told me as much as I fished….5 days a week at the time..,,I should have them serviced 3-4 times a year. More often than not when I would send a reel into Shimano they would just send me a brand new one back…pretty good deal there. My nephew a while back sent in 5 Ci 4 reels and they sent him 5 of the latest model back…not bad for 100 bucks.

Honestly I’ve never really done any, but I bought a reel maintenance kit a couple weeks ago and plan to go through all my reels before I put them up for the winter as well as go over my ice fishing reels before that starts.
