I know people that spray it on their hands to ease arthritis pain. They swear it works. Pretty sure it is the placebo effect at work there. All that really matters is it gives them some relief

    I heard wd40 was 70% kerosene. It's really a cleaner, not a lubricant.
I know a guy that uses petroleum jelly. On his reels that is. LOL

I would say the reel grease that I bought is very similar to petroleum jelly. Likely all it is in a fancy squeeze tube. Possibly some additives

I believe you are right on the kerosene being a major component. Have used WD40 to start a stubborn diesel truck.

“WD-40 does not contain fish oil, contrary to a popular myth, nor does it contain silicone, kerosene, water, wax, graphite, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).”

“The main ingredient is Stoddard solvent, also known as Varsol”
“You know the thing about a crappie…..he’s got black eyes, lifeless eyes…like a dolls eyes.”
