I new so I'm trying to learn! What do you prefer Live/cut bait or jigs; commercial or your own rigging?

Depends on the type of fishing I am doing. Shooting docks would be jigs. Treetops or night fishing around lights minnows. Cut bait if I am chasing catfish

I "prefer" to use artificial baits for most methods I use. I do, however, use live bait on certain occasions. And if I understand your question about "commercial or your own rigging", I buy what I use (hooks, sinkers, jigs, cranks, etc.) ... I do not "make" any, myself. Some of the baits/equipment I use are winnings from our annual events, gifts, or from being a Field Tester for various brands.

I like jigs tipped with minnows when single poling. But I usually go to the lake with an arsenal of both live and artificial.

Do you think jigs w/ minnows will catch more fish than jigs?

Depends on what they want on that day, some days minnows, some days jigs. What do you?

I prefer jigs. But sometimes the fish prefer minnows. As far as jigs I buy from a variety of places some site supporters and some commercial like Bobby garland. I do make some of my own jig heads but only if I want a special pour like a bigger hook. Rest I buy from local jig makers or site supporters.

But you really only need 4 colors
    Blue ice
    Monkey milk
    Light pink
    Chartreuse
    And 2 jig head sizes 1/32 & 1/16

I’d rather fool em than feed em, so it’s artificial almost 100%. Very rare that I use bait, live or dead. I do use applied scent and feel it helps on tough days.
