I’d recommend a seven foot, one piece, Jenko hypertense rod. Good all purpose rod for bank or boat. Can jig fish with it or bobber fish either a slider or clip on. The ten foot model is a good second choice in that lineup of their rods. The ten is two piece.

You will not go wrong with a St. Croix. If you are bank fishing and transporting rods by vehicle a one piece rod is an accident waiting to happen. I do considerable amount of bank fishing with rods up to 6’ 10” in length. All of my rods are 2 piece and are not assembled until I am at my spot I am going to fish.

    Regards

i spent most of the summer on shore fishing, i finally found out from an old timer there that i need to get OUT THERE, so i experimented with rods and lines, i ended up with a cabelas 7ft fish eagle 1/8 to 1/2 oz rating, with suffix 832 10lb braid, using a double x bobber, this bobber has a taper plunger in it, i removed the plunger added 5 bb's from my bb gun, then added water till it floats about half submerged, and a 4lb flourocarbon leader, with flies. when i met up with the old times a few weeks later, he noticed my casting range, he looked and said i need an out of state license sort of made me laugh, but i started catching fish, i would estimate the distance approx 50yds oy maybe more. but this set up really gave me confidence over all my previous set ups. i might even try 7 1/2 ft or even 8ft next season. a note i may add, i can possibly get a little more distance with 4lb mono but the line stretch is terrible at that distance along with sensativity

Both are lightweight. They’re in my rod locker so I can’t give exact jig weights for them. Google them.

I'm with Mr. Chuck. I have a 6.6 acc crappie stick for fish in tighter areas, but my got is the 8ft. Its light east to cast. Pretty sensitive also. I'm hooked on these rods.
