You answered your own question. You like it. You don't like cast/wind. Do what you love. It really is that simple.
Don't give up on jigs. Some days are harder but jigs work! I wonder if downsizing would have helped? Seems lately when they are hard to bite putting that micro bait on them they can't resist.

Unless a man gets hungry fishing is for enjoyment. Whatever makes fishing enjoyable would be the direction I would go. There is no right or wrong bait to use.

Hey Chuck, I like to fish minnows also. On a recent trip to KY Lake I broke the handle on my bucket, need a new one
Since I'm not far away I could come and pick it up.
Just kidding you, the drive would cost more than a new bucket.
I do enjoy reading what you have to say!

I just don’t think I can never leave home without them. Lol
Hope you got an Engle. It works well for me.

90% of the time I'm using jigs tipped with chartreuse colored nibbles, although I realize that some times all they want is a minnow. I can thank my lazy sleepy bait guy for making me a jig guy, he likes to sleep in while his parking lot is full of angry fisherman waiting for him to open.

Used the 2.5 inch gulp minnows in smelt color today. I had no minnows to use against them the majority of the fish came from that bait. I will use them again when shooting docks
