    Since I return most of what I catch and allow others to clean the few I keep, I have no idea about whether their stomachs were empty or not. All I care about is that they were motivated to take the jig.

    But I sure wish I could learn to look at my graph and tell which crappie were motivated enough to bite.

    I understand the general rules but find too often the crappie ignore those rules.

    On my last outing a couple of days ago on a DFW area lake I found all of the crappies I kept and cleaned had empty stomachs (and yet they were still very reluctant to bite my jigs). Hopefully cooler weather coming will get them feeding aggressively.

    The ones I caught Sunday had empty stomachs or very near to it. It had been a clear sky with a full moon the night before
