    Default Pontoon for fishing

Buy a dedicated fishing pontoon or buy a pleasure toon and reconfigure it to fish from?
For the pontoon fisherman what are some must have features?
I am looking to bridge and structure fish from the pontoon. I will keep the Traker to shoot docks from.

I'd be sure to have a good spot lock trolling motor for sure. Possibly a tritoon for the added stability and HP. Rating. A inverter generator for night stalking, don't know if id go high end especially if its gonna be a fishing boat. Get something that would clean up easy. I would save on the luxury and spend on the electronics.

What’s the benefit of a pontoon over your tracker for bridge and structure fishing if I may?

If you buy an old one look for aluminum flooring versus wood. They do get impacted by the wind pretty good so a 36 v trolling motor and good anchors will help.

I have noticed the pleasure oriented toons seem to have higher hp motors

I have often thought of getting a pontoon again. I had an 18' one and loved how well it maneuvered around. Think I would try to find one of them again, it was not for partying, more for fishing and I put a TM on and electronics. I loved everything about it except trying to longline;ine with it and the wind. No wind all is great, but a little blow and not so great for that. Everything else it was great!

I have never owned one. I do think it would serve my purposes very well. I am thinking 20 to 22 feet would be a good size. Years ago I watched 2 old timers pull in under a bridge with an old toon and flat put the smack down on the fish.
