    Default Justice White

was dealing out some justice yesterday , one lip at a time .....
of course it wouldn't be fair not to include the minnow head in black with a white eye .
the good news is everyone swam off to parts unknown .
was it stupid good you might ask ?
in a small private lake full of crappie ,silly question with the ketchn crew close by .
they really didn't have a chance , We stopped after 2 hours .
it got to the point my hands were raw and it was just for recreation after work anyway .
lost count at over 150 in 2 hours we did and home we went
no big crappie , just tons of them .
heard tell a cast net toss off that dock will yield around 30 per toss ...
simple math dictates 5 tosses and done ....same yield ....
will likely just be on the cast net next visit
there was moment in time though, that i was sad ....
about the bluegill that got in my way
man was that jig hard to get out of that blue "gill" plate

I'd be afraid of messing up a little cast net catching that many. Better bring the heavy duty one and hang on!

Whew, that lake is prime for some harvesting. You and the gang are certainly on the job!

The only problem with the lake is a lack of fishing pressure , there are some predator fish in there to keep the crappie in check .
The most noticeable thing I have seen so far is one age class is dominant in there , looks like 2 year olds to me .
There are not many under 9 inches and not many over 11 inches and most of the crappie seem to be normal builds .
Few large headed fish in the mix, now mind you every visit gets me more information and last visit I got a good tip .
Seems the old creek channel runs down the other side of the lake and according to the owner of the lake , the bridge off the north island going to the west about halfway across is the deepest part of the lake .
Says that is where his really big crappie live and don't feel like you can't have run of the lake .
He has 2 boats there and says just have at it and keep all you want .

the lake gets a few visitors for sure , he has a large family . they just don't seem to have much interest in average size crappie .
they always ask me did you ketch one of them huge bass that live in there yet ? i always say not yet and not likely since i dont fish for bass .
the cast net on the dock now is a new one , the one when i got there was trashed . so were 2 minnow buckets and 2 fish baskets .

Oh man that would be so cool! Now you have essentially your own semiprivate lake. Grab your lucky hat, camera, fishing gear and go! Find those big ones! Probably a monster lurking in there.

They might be stunted from too many living in there.
Maybe they will bite this one……
