Wish I could help you but I have no experience with those reels.
As the day progresses I'm sure others will chime in.
I hope that you and your wife have fun.

I’ve never thought about weight or going lighter in a reel…..guess most of my crappie reels aren’t huge so I don’t even notice. Now a fishing rod…..that’s completely different. I remember fishing a fiberglass rod I bought stupidly, and after one trip I had enough LOL! That thing was heavy as heck for a rod! I have no doubt fisherman around the world thought graphite rods when they came out were the best thing since sliced bread!
I have had one in hand on a store. It was a smooth as the other reels in its class. Price is reasonable. With some maintenance and care it should last a long time
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
I've got four Ocuma reels and not a bad thing to say about Ocuma. Have a small 3000 on one of my crappie rods that's been great.
then picked up a Ignite UL that is really small. Heck of a nice reel. Buying another Ocuma wouldn't bother me in the least. I think something about equipment these days is it's hard to go wrong with pretty much anything. Beside these two Ocuma spinning reels I have a small Shimano and a small Kastking and if one of them is actually any better than the other I couldn't say. They all work great, are small and light! Oh, forgot, also have a very small Shakespeare I bought as a rod reel kit for the rod. Haven't used the reel much yet but I seriously doubt any crappie will wear it out in the next bunch of years! What I avoid are reels with some kind of sales pitch that makes me wonder why the pitch is needed in the first place. ABU brought out that camouflaged catfish special. As I understand it, it's a 6500 with a new paint job and the price went up about $50! That kind of stuff really turns me off! BTW, that little Ocuma Ignite is on a 5' Ocuma Celico rod, bought them separately. The rod is #CE-S602UL-1. been really fun to use!
