    Default Trolling magnets

Crappie Magnets say that they are designed for a vertcical type presentation. I am wondering if they also work well for trolling. Have not found anybody using that method with them.

They might, but I don’t have the gear to try. I will tell you they can be cranked back slowly just over the bottom and work just fine. I would say give it a try and let us know how you do.

One of the premier guides of the south trolls with Crappie Magnets. He puts his clients on a ton of fish. I should add that is Cpt. Richard Simms….he is a member on here. If you are on Facebook you can see the fruits of his fishing on Scenic City Fishing Charters, Inc.

I would think to troll them it would require some sort of added weight, or it would be skimming the top of the water...just my thinking

Trolling generally generates a reaction bite. Crappie, and Trout Magnets are a scent and taste lure. You could troll Magnets on a jig head, but I think a plastic body would provide more action.

I'm at a point where I'm tired of having 100 of each type in 20 different colors by 6 different manufacturers. Time to scale down. I like crappie magnet colors as well as how they catch fish for me when jigging. So if they will double as a trolling bait then they win a spot in the boat. (Right next to the Sliders and Bandits of course) Trolling magnets
