How many of you lefties can use a right handed reel

I am right handed but I crank both baitcasters and spinning reels with my right hand. My dad is left handed and does the same. Not sure he has ever had a left handed reel. I do however shoot left handed as I am Left eye dominant, a trait I didn't find out until my junior year of high school.

You probably do it the same reason I do. when I got into bait casting, all casting reels reeled with the right hand. All I knew was reel on the right side!

I'm right-handed and cast with my right and reel with my left. Better rod control and sensitivity with my right hand.

I'm taking my wife's newbie nephew fishing this week and was told he's left handed. I will switch the handle of one spinning reel to the right but see if he can also reel line in with the handle on the left. Do most of you lefties use left handed reels or are you ambidextrous - which I am not.

I am a righty but why can't you just turn the reel upside down like you see them folks on vacation doing is the question ?

Cast lefty and reel righty. No switching hands to reel. Been lefty my whole life. My Grandpa Joe went to catholic school and they forced him to write righty. Or he got the ruler on his knuckles. Then they complained cuz they couldn't read it. When I golfed I golfed righty because only clubs we had were righty....everything else lefty!!
