Them bream can certainly drive ya nuts
The temperature of the water was 85 when we left the lake , and the outside temperature was 82 when we left at sundown . Now mind you it was 92 when we got there at 5 pm and it seemed like 1,000 to me ,but we stayed after them and found a few .
Bites were the typical summer time soft touch thing for the most part and lots of fish escaped the hooksets and most of them were right at 10 inches and under about a half inch.
a few real nice fish came off beside the boat .
Nothing really worked better than the next on color and or jig size for the most part ,and if it was your turn then you best make it a good one . We seemed to have a rotating thing going on where one of the 3 of us was on them and the other 2 not so much .
The good news is the only injuries were to the fish lips and it was nice to be only 1 of 2 boats on the entire lake
5 to 8 feet of water produced the better fish and it still seems the larger fish are in water under 6 to 7 feet deep ,with a few even shallower . Hooked a something that was not a crappie ,and it for sure pulled nicely , it escaped though sight unseen .
Several warmouth in the mix of no size and one spot had what we think were bream on it driving us even more crazy than we already are ,never hooked one at that spot so we ain't sure what was pecking like a chicken on the jigs .
Only had 10 in the live well when we loaded up ,but to be sure we waded thru a ton of right there fisheez getting to that number .
Kept only the no measure size fish and had a good time after work playing hide and seek with them . Released a bunch of just barely legal fish to grow a bit more .
I tried several different jigs and in the end the best fish seemed to like a hot pink grub with a chart curly tail and of course I dint have none of them with me
good times for sure

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Look like pearl in some variation was the ticket..... It was workn well here also but that was before the span of about 12" of rain over the past several days...... Not looking like it's gonna stop anytime soon......
How does that song go? Rain rain go away.....LOL
Nice catches.....
Those little gills are straight up gangsta minnow killers. Nothing worse than tossing out a fresh minnow to have the gills peck it to death.
