I've got one rod set up with a Zebco underspin (the underspin version of the 33). It works fine for me.
In addition to all my baitcast and spinning gear, I have a couple of Zebco spincast reels, a 33 and also a Z03; I bought these a few years ago and they still work fine. But I would like to have an underspin (closed-face) because I have some better UL spinning rods than ultralight casting rods. This is for when someone goes fishing with me and they have little fishing experience. And if the reel is any good, I might use it some myself because I have occasionally used a Zebco rig! This is for bream fishing with real light jigs, possibly, crappie fishing. Has anyone found an underspin that is good quality and will cast light jigs a good distance? If the lightness of the jig is a problem, I could add a split shot weight.
It could be any brand, not just Zebco.

I have a small Zebco underspin I believe it is a #11. It is a pleasure to fish with.

I can still remember the gear noise of a 5 dollar Zebco 202. Probably been close to 40 years ago

the 22 is nothing like the 202 my friend , quite smooth and a decent drag as well ....good stuff for the money
