I am consumed with learning how to dock shoot. I even find myself driving by old barns, house decks and culverts.... imagining where I fire that jig first if I was fishing it. It still startles me at times when I'm fishing a dark nasty spot under an old dock and all of a sudden that line JUMPS. I can't get enough of it. I'm not very good at it but I'm learning. But if I needed a good bucket of fish to eat. I'd pick my 10footer and a submerged laydown in 20 ft of water in late fall vertical jigging. And yeah it still kinda startles me sometimes when the line goes THUMP.

Decks, folding chairs, buckets and coffee cans make for good practice. My best battle from under a dock was a 20lb blue cat. I set the hook and that critter came alive. That will get your adrenaline going.
