seems like a terribly high amount of work to find an anchor to me .
maybe rethink it and don't worry about it , life is short sir
Today, I went fishing again and before I went, I tied the exact knot you mention above! I found it on youtube before I read any of these posts. It worked. Know what my anchor was? A 35 lb kettle bell. That you exercise with! It held that boat just fine and it was blowing hard for around here. I was actually surprised it held in that wind.
I am determined to find my anchor! I bought it at Academy, I think. I think it was this...
Marine Raider 16 lb. Coated River Anchor. Might be bigger, not sure.

Sometimes you just have to do something to prove to yourself that you can do it.

Sounds like someone is fixing to go for a swim. If you have a friend with a mask and snorkel they would be handy...On the other hand, some anchors aren't that expensive.

I went fishing with a friend once, and bought a new anchor for his boat. The only problem was l forgot to tie it to his boat then I threw it out.
I was marking brush piles with the small Arkie bouys. I would see a brushpile and throw out a bouy. When I turned the boat around to troll back past the piles. No bouys to be found. It sure helps to unwrap the lead weight from the stem so they don't sink. Ha
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass alongTechno2000 LIKED above post
