After 24 hours on ice, you could see some cloudiness in eyes of the fish and you could tell the meat was soft. You took a chance and everything turned out OK. I am glad you and GF are fine. Please don't try that again. I don't mean to be critical, I'm just concerned. GreenLine gave another thing to check for freshness and that is the gills. The redder the better. Tight lines to you.
