Just how did those crazy birds make a endangered protected list??? What's their purpose??? There's way too many of them everywhere......

umbrella law , meant to protect other birds and they slid in under the wire
some of the laws go way back to market hunting days and womens hats
stupid people put us in this situation as is typically the case

Back in March I got into a good group of nice slabs. About every other one had sides freshly torn up like that. I’m thinking they had gone shallow for spawn and the cormorants got them then. The cold front had pushed them back deeper and that’s where I was catching them.

cormorants can dive super deep , they are the you know what at long dives and staying down there forever , similar to otters in their agility and hunting styles and about 50 million more of them than otters !
the cormorants find the big shoals of bait and target EVERYTHING in the area that is a fish
