I like being on the lake and fishing. If the sun gets to bright I will find a bridge to hide under. If it is too windy I'll find a sheltered cove or a creek to fish. If the rain is too much I'll fish my slips. If it's too cold I'll throuw on some more clothers.

Notice I did not say catching. I said fishing, i.e., trying to catch them. I'm good at fishing, not so good at the catching. I fished 4 hours this afternoon and only caught 25 crappie, two small bass and a small catfish. Friend of mind caught 45 crappie during the same period, using minnows. He kept trying to get me to use minnows but I was bound and determine that those crappie were not going to tell me what to feed them.

Same here! Of the 95 fish caught between the two of us (correction in number counter count), my partner caught fish 5:1 in the same dang boat! So while he caught fish I got casting practice. (Shouldn't have taught him so well...)

The "wind gods" have had it out for me for many years. The forecast can be for <5mph winds and as soon as I get to the lake the winds pick up. I can get on a bank on one side of a creek or the main lake & the winds will try to blow me in whatever direction I DON'T want the boat to go (which is usually right at the bank I'm fishing ). Then I look over on the opposing bank and see a calm stretch of water, and decide to move over there. BUT, once there, the wind will shift and find me ... even if I try and get back into a small pocket or creek.

SO, to answer your question ... sunny, cloudless days - I'm fine with that. But "no breeze" conditions .... ain't happening for Pappy

Same here. Almost like a nice fire and you can never get away from the smoke!

Sunny/cloudy don't care, just so it's calm-ish....Seems around here it's calm or your fishing in (Deadliest Catch) type conditions.

The weather man can predict no wind all day if I get off work and go to the lake it will be blowing 15-25 mph! I cannot remember the last time I got to go fishing and not fight the wind

This is why I love my home lake, Shenango lake in Pennsylvania. There’s always, always somewhere to fish out of the wind. There’s brush or trees or drops in those places too. Very rarely have I not caught fish here. Just have to be careful getting to these spots as you have to go thru the open areas to get to them and the waves can get pretty high in those areas. I don’t have a picture of the lake map to post to show you how it looks.
